  • Corneal topography and measurement
  • Trial lens fitting and evaluation
  • Vision clarity assessment with lenses in place

Contact Lens FAQs

Do I need a separate contact lens prescription?
Yes. A contact lens prescription is different from an eyeglass prescription and requires a separate fitting exam. Contact lens fittings assess the health of your eye surface, the correct lens diameter and base curve, and ensure the lens centers and moves properly on your eye.
What types of contact lenses do you fit?
We fit daily disposables, bi-weekly, monthly, toric lenses for astigmatism, multifocal lenses for presbyopia, colored contacts, and specialty lenses for hard-to-fit prescriptions.
Can I wear contact lenses if I have astigmatism?
Absolutely. Toric contact lenses are specially designed to correct astigmatism and are available in daily, bi-weekly, and monthly modalities. Most patients with astigmatism can wear contacts comfortably.
Does insurance cover contact lens fittings?
Most vision plans (VSP, EyeMed) include an annual contact lens fitting allowance. Some plans provide a materials allowance toward the cost of lenses. We'll verify your specific benefits before your appointment.
How often do I need a contact lens exam?
Annual contact lens exams are recommended for all lens wearers — even if your prescription hasn't changed. These visits allow us to monitor the health of your cornea and ensure your current lenses remain the best fit.
